what is spinal decompression?
Spinal Decompression is a safe, non surgical alternative to managing certain types of back and neck pain.
who can benefit from spinal decompression?
Spinal decompression can help a wide variety of people who struggle with budging or herniated discs, sciatic pain, degenerative disc diseases, and post surgical back pain.
decompression vs. surgery
About 53% of spinal surgeries fail to relieve symptoms where a 76% reduction in pain was reported one year after completion of spinal decompression treatment.
Recovery time for spinal surgery typically ranges from six weeks to six months but with spinal decompression, there is NO recovery time. Even during the 4-6 week period that your therapy lasts, there is easily no disruption to your life or job.
Most patients who have a spinal surgery will have a total of 2-3 surgeries because the first surgery can cause instability to the spine. Spinal decompression, on the other hand, gives no lasting strain to your spine. There are no long-term problems, simply long-term relief.
Any surgery offers a risk by simply going under general anesthesia not to mention the possibility of infection, nerve damage, and strong pain killers to manage ongoing pain. Spinal decompression releases you of these concerns as there is no medication, needles, steroids, or cutting involved with this kind of therapy.

what does treatment look like?
A typical spinal decompression treatment includes about 20 sessions if IDD therapy over a 4-6 week period. Each of these sessions lasts about 20 minutes plus physiotherapy and adjustments with Dr. Bennett. We can also offer suggestions for your home-care.
DRY NEEDLINGDry needling is a technique that acupuncturist, physical therapist and other trained healthcare providers use to treat pain and movement issues. It’s almost always used as part of a larger pain management plan that could include exercise, stretching, massage and other techniques. During this treatment, a provider inserts thin, sharp needles through your skin to treat underlying myofascial trigger points.
CUPPING |
Cupping is a form of alternative medicine in which a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. People get it for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.
